Önder has acquired advanced technical skills in various areas such as biological assays, aerobic and anaerobic microbial culturing, analytical techniques, microcosm treatability testing, and molecular biology tools like qPCR, sequencing, and molecular cloning. He possesses significant expertise in conducting microcosm treatability studies to evaluate the breakdown of chlorinated solvents, hydrocarbons, and pesticides in soil and groundwater. Apart from investigating biostimulation and natural attenuation, Önder has evaluated enhanced bioremediation methods, including aerobic and anaerobic bioaugmentation, chemical reduction, thermal stimulation, and amendments to improve bioavailability.
